Kate's Class Descriptions

Mommyoga

Belly Yoga Mamas is a Yoga & Belly Dance class for the Child Bearing Years. We will focus on postures and movements that not only feel great on the prenatal and post partum body, but are also therapeutic, safe and effective for easing and celebrating the female body. Journey with us back to the roots of this ancient dance form. We will begin with yoga stretching and strengthening and flow into this delightful dance to honor our changing bodies. Available to Prenatal and Postpartum Mamas with children of all ages.

Beginning 1-2: No previous Yoga experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome to attend. This is an excellent choice for students who want to explore the fundamentals of Yoga as well as experienced practitioners who are looking for a review of the basics. We will explore the breath, alignment, and balance through the postures.

All Levels 1-3:  This is a mixed class designed to honor the needs of a wider spectrum of students.  This is an excellent choice for continuing practitioners who want to deepen their practice beyond the introductory stage. Inversions will be explored when suitable for each student.

Intermediate 2-3:  This class will emphasize strength and conditioning as well as flexibility and suppleness. We will continue to explore the inversions with special attention paid to healthful alignment in both headstand and shoulderstand. At least one year of prior asana practice is preferred.
