Hello Everyone!

I'm so pleased to announce the changes happening in my life!!!

I've just returned home from my first Yoga Retreat to Sayulita, Mexico. It was quite a success for adults and children alike. I'm already making plans for the next retreat so let me know what dates might work for you and yours. What a great way to vacation: friends, family, Yoga, the beach with warm ocean water and don't forget the lovely Mexican culture.

We were surrounded by amazing people at the Villas Rana Verde including the owners and local Santa Cruzans, Barry and Connie Dumont. Our personal chef, Lucia, and her assistant, Marie Cruz, fed us so well with fresh food twice a day. Her husband, Angel, who drove us to and from the airport, was sure to greet us with a cold cervesa when we landed. Our childcare provider was so sweet with los ninos who completely adored her. From the palapa in which we practiced, we enjoyed gazing across the ocean as well as an amazing sunset view for each evening class. In short, it was a relaxing decompression from the Holidays and a splendid way to start the New Year with fresh intentions. I feel the circle of the kula (community) that we created still embracing me as I reenter our life here in Santa Cruz.

This rainy weather has me ready to practice at home in front of the fire, which is what I have done for the greater part of today. I am home with my family more now that I have moved on from NOURISH. This is a very exciting time for me as I plunge into teaching at the Yoga Center Santa Cruz.

The studio is located at 428C Front Street right across from the Bus Station. I of course have been practicing here with my mentor/ teacher Kofi Busia for over 6 years now. It feels like coming home to be sharing the same walls as I teach in the studio next to him on Tuesdays. I am also deeply inspired by the other instructors at the studio who have many years of teaching under their belts. I feel honored that I have been invited into the folds of this space and look forward to seeing your face as I roll out my mat in Studio 2.

Currently, I teach four classes a week including my Intermediate and Beginning level classes on Sunday that I have taught for years. The times are the same as always 10-11:30 am level 2-3 and 12-1:15 pm level 1-2. You'll note that I changed the level of the second class to include those that have been practicing a while. Rest assured you will still be comfortable as a beginner in this class. Please also note that I am offering classes on both Tuesday level 1-2 from 10-11:15 am and Wednesday level 1-3 from 10-11:30 am. The drop in rate is $13 per class with a series of 4 or more classes at a $10 per class rate.

I have just taught my first week at the space and love the abundance of light filtering in through the skylights, the spaciousness of the layout and the oh so useful wall space and props. Please come to play and stretch and strengthen with me soon.

For those of you with Prenatal or Postpartum friends, spread the word that my Belly Yoga Mamas class is in full swing! This is a kid friendly class so infants and toddlers are welcome! The class is on Thursday from 9:30-11:30 am and the cost is $15 drop in. I offer the class out of my home on the Westside. Please email or call for directions.

I am very open to trade and other unique forms of payment, so please do not let a lack of funds get in the way of your practice. You can find flyers to download and print on the classes page if you'd like to share them.

Let's Yoke!!!
