Class Descriptions

Here is a basic overview of the types of classes that I offer.  

Level 1:  No previous Yoga experience is necessary.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  This is an excellent choice for beginners who want to explore the fundamentals of Yoga as well as experienced practitioners who are looking for a review of the basics.  We will explore the breath, alignment, and balance through the postures.

Level 1-2/1-3  This is a mixed class designed to honor the needs of a wider spectrum of students.  This is an excellent choice for continuing practitioners who want to deepen their practice beyond the introductory stage of Level 1.

Level 2:  This is a class for students with previous yoga experience. We will deepen into familiar postures and explore new variations.   Inversions will be introduced.

Vinyasa 2-3:  The breath can take you on a journey of strengthening and aerobic conditioning.  Flow through the postures as they are linked with the breath.  Choose your level of intensity with varied intermediate modifications.

Level 2-3:  This intermediate level class will emphasize strength and  conditioning as well as flexibility and suppleness.  We will continue to explore the inversions with special attention paid to shoulderstand.  At least one year of prior asana practice is preferred.

Mellow:  Take time to rejuvenate your body with relaxing supported postures.  This is an all levels class, suitable for those dealing with injuries or other special needs. 

Kid's Class:  Ages 3 -9 years old will love to practice yoga poses and play using their breath, voice (we sing together) and whole body.  No prior yoga experience is necessary.  Adults are encouraged to give their child space to grow as an individual by not attending.

Mommy and Me:  This is a class designed to help mom reshape her body with the asana/poses.  Baby benefits from the movement and attention of mom as well as being encouraged to post up, sit up, and crawl.  No prior experience is required for mom.  Suitable for ages 6 weeks to crawling.

Mom and Tot:  A safe and playful environment is created to practice yoga for moms and toddlers walking until 3 years old.  Please feel free to bring a few small toys and light snacks for the kids as an hour can be a long time for their attention span.
